THE SATURDAY NIGHT SHUTDOWN has been the Premier Hip-Hop Show in Tampa Bay for decades. Dating back to 1986 the show has featured a wide range of talented hosts who have continued to carry the torch that the late Kenny K ignited. The baton was passed to us and we had the honor of taking it to the next level as the new Hosts of the Shutdown on 1st Saturdays for most of 2019.
We broadcast live on WMNF 88.5 FM Tampa from 12-3 am on Sunday Mornings. Our second show as Hosts of the Shutdown featured us introducing a few new segments to the show. We debuted DJ Spaceship's "GIMME SPACE" which is a Q&A with Ship's commentary and the input of our fans. We also brought "THE SATURDAY NIGHT SHINE" to the table as we put the spotlight on talented artists out of Tampa Bay.

Our 3rd show with the Saturday Night Shutdown was as important as they come. We were part of the WMNF Fundraiser alongside the rest of the Shutdown crew. DJ Silent Rage, DJ Wally Clark and DJ Spaceship all came through to create the vibe and keep the music blazing. Our 4th show on the Shutdown featured an in-depth interview with T.O. He talked about how music has given him the opportunity to branch out and diversity his portfolio. We got a chance to speak with some of the artists from Unity Jam 2019 about their yearly event which doubles as a fundraiser for WMNF! We also had ASARU come in for a quick chat with DJ Silent Rage and Rahim Samad. We finished up the show with a new edition of the Saturday Night Shine.

We had a jam packed show for the Labor Day Edition of the Saturday Night Shutdown. We interviewed Blokitto Balboa out of Columbus, OH courtesy of Atlanta. We talked about how to set up shop and pursue music in any environment. We also had Tampa Hip-Hop SuperGroup The Villanz come by during the broadcast to talk about the current state of Hip-Hop in the Bay.

October's Shutdown was a full circle type of event. We had a great interview with St. Pete Hip-Hop Artist DABRON KAIN and reflected on the path it took to get here. He was actually one of the founders of Powerline AFX and a vital reason why DJ Spaceship and myself are doing what we do. We played music from his latest release "The Dark Album."

We spoke with the Twerk God CRISTOL for this edition of the Shutdown. I met him when i first moved to Tampa 13 years ago. To see him where he's at right now is both humbling and encouraging. He debuted a new track that he just laid down at the studio which is about to be a major problem in the very near future. We talked about where music has taken him to and what's on the horizon.
